QR codelicious: a QR code made out of Oreos

I love the idea of QR codes.

Whenever I see the distinctive QR pattern, I think it's a secret scavenger hunt designed just for fans. Or something I'll be rewarded for scanning.

For example, Subway and the Playstation game "Uncharted 3" are running a partner campaign where you get free DLC (downloadable content) for scanning the QR code on the in-store banner.

Unfortunately, that's one of the few cool uses I've seen. Usually scanning a QR code takes me to a public website page, or a broken link.

So at least this is clever (and delicious): a QR code made of Oreos. And it's scannable!

Kudos for your fun idea, Redpepper. Watch the vid below, then scan the code!

  1. Really cool! You can tell a lot of time was put into creating it (and hopefully they rewarded themselves by eating it after ;) )

    That totally rocks!

  3. Jacki James says:

Doesn't work when I scan it on screen :-(

Hi Jacki! One of my scanning apps didn't work, but I was able to get it to work with RedLaser. Maybe try scanning the video still instead, since it's smaller. :)
