Google, YouTube win in Viacom copyright case

Today was a good day for Google as the search giant won its $1 billion copyright case against Viacom.

YouTube, which is owned by Google, had been charged with purposefully uploading copyrighted television clips to its website in order to gain visibility. After months of deliberation, Viacom leaves the loser.

Although Viacom plans to appeal the decision, it appears Google has come out of the mud triumphant.
