At this morning's opening of Breakthrough, day 2, I took a few minutes to talk about Michael Gable, a longtime friend of the iMedia family, who worked for Audience Science and died unexpectedly on September 16th of this year. Michael died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which in English means an enlarged heart, and is survived by his wife Michelle, his 3-1/2 year old son Matteo, and one year old daughter Grace.
Sadly, Grace celebrated her first birthday in the cardiac intensive care unit, as she is fighting her own heart problem and is in precarious health.
We here at iMedia and in the industry have supported the Tom Deirlein Foundation in its noble work to help children in Iraq whose lives have been disrupted by the war there. In that spirit, I invite Michael's friends and the industry at large to help his family through this impossibly difficult time.
