EXPOTV.com And The True Brand Advocate
Posted by Jim Nichols on March 12, 2009 at 09:05 PM PDT
I stumbled upon ExpoTV.com a few months ago, and have been amazed ever since. See, this site gives consumers an opportunity to make webcam style videos in support of their favorite brands and products.
Now, the idea of someone reviewing a 60 inch TV may not seem all that groundbreaking to you, though the addition of the video format really enriches the experience. But what is really amazing about this site is that consumers will advocate for virtually every product they use. No product too personal in nature to pitch for. Witness:
This vid, and 140 others, BTW, live in the site's Feminine Hygiene section.
People's willingness to talk about every day things -- every day personal things in particular -- seems a marvelous trend to me. Since word of mouth is the single most important driver of choice, its natural that a forum like this would attract many eyeballs. Traffic for this relatively new site is modest but growing very fast. About 240,000 visited in the last month according to Quantcast, which is pretty near twice what the site was pulling in November.
Check out their trend here: http://www.quantcast.com/expotv.com
ExpoTV.com offers marketing opportunities that I'll let you check outyourself -- P&G appears to be all over this site which bodes well for its future.
Are they talking about your brand? I bet they are. Head over and take a few moments to listen.
